My journey to speech therapy
Hello friends! My name is Summer Rojas, and I am a speech-language pathologist (SLP). For three years, I've had the privilege of working primarily with school-aged children in both elementary school and private practice settings. My journey into speech therapy is deeply connected to the mission of Pleasant Words Speech Therapy.
I am extremely passionate about working with children and empowering them to grow in the area of communication. As a Christ follower, I am called to serve others, and I find immense joy in collaborating with families, advocating for others, and nourishing speech and language skills. This personal calling aligns perfectly with our commitment to provide personalized, evidence-based care that fosters words of healing, connection, and encouragement.

A unique approach to communication
My therapy style is centered around creating a supportive and engaging environment where each child can thrive. I believe in a holistic approach, understanding that effective communication involves more than just sounds and words. It encompasses confidence, connection, and the ability to express oneself fully.
What makes my approach unique is the blend of evidence-based practices with a compassionate and individualized touch. I prioritize building strong relationships with both children and their families, ensuring that therapy goals are relevant and integrated into daily life. This collaborative spirit empowers families to become active participants in their child's communication journey.

Your comfort and growth are my priority
When you choose to work with me at Pleasant Words Speech Therapy, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free space. My primary goal is to ensure that every client feels comfortable and supported throughout their therapy journey. We begin with a thorough assessment to understand individual needs and create a personalized therapy plan tailored to specific goals.
I use engaging and play-based techniques, especially with our younger clients, to make learning enjoyable and effective. Open communication with parents and caregivers is key, and I always encourage questions and feedback. Together, we'll celebrate every milestone and navigate any challenges, ensuring a positive and impactful experience.
"The most rewarding aspect of being an SLP is witnessing the transformation in a child's confidence."
